- Discusses the importance of good financial planning by farmers by using a reliable financial planner to enable them to obtain their financial aims. Notes that a complete estimation of a person's finances needs to be done to find out what the aims and requirements are and appropriate suggestions for solutions should be made. States that according to research, only about 15% of family businesses survive the 3rd generation due to poor succession planning. Concludes that farmers with family businesses should update testaments regularly, make funds available for estate,capital gains and income taxes and have a well defined retirement plan in place.
